Homemade Peeps From Scratch

It is almost easter! The time of year when you can find peeps everywhere! Why not learn how to make homemade peeps!. It can be a fun easter activity and yummy snack to make!

What Are Peeps?

What are peeps? Peeps are marshmallows shaped in a baby chick, bunny and sometimes other cute animals, usually related to a holiday. The peeps are coated with colored sugar.

To learn how to make these peeps. First you need to learn how to make marshmallows. Yes! We will be making homemade marshmallows for today's peeps recipe. To make peeps you will also need a silicone mold. Ingredients for the marshmallows and have fun!

I will be using my bunny silicone mold to make homemade bunny peeps! 🐇These peeps marshmallows are sweet, soft and super stretchy! Marshmallow Peeps | Easter PEeps

Marshmallow Peeps Ingredients

7 Grams Gelatin + ¼ Cup Water
150 Grams Sugar
✿ ¼ Cup Water
1⁄2 Cup Corn Syrup
Gel Food Coloring


Marshmallow Peeps INSTRUCTIONS | Click here for the recipe video

Add water to the gelatin and set it aside to let it bloom.
In a pot add the sugar, corn syrup and water. Give it a quick stir until the sugar is melted. Let the mixture simmer until it reaches 240F. Take of the heat.

Beat up the bloomed gelatin with a hand mixer. Slowly pour the hot mixture into the gelatin while you keep beating it. Beat until a thick consistency.



Grease mold with some oil. Pour the marshmallow in the mold. Freeze it for 1 - 2 hours or until marshmallow is hard.






To make colored sugar, in a Ziplock add sugar and a drop of food coloring. Mix well until the sugar is colored. Set aside until use.







Once marshmallow has hardened. Carefully remove from the mold. Coat with colored sugar. Let them sit for 10 minute at room temperature to soften.
