Salsa verde, or mexican green salsa is a spicy mexican green sauce made with tomatillos as the main ingredient. Green salsa verde goes well with a lot of food. You can use this green salsa as dipping sauce for all kinds of food or add it over your favorite tacos! You can adjust the spiciness to your personal preferences.

There are different ways to make this mexican green salsa. In this video I will show you my favorite way to make the best salsa verde. We will be charring the ingredients to give a nice smoky flavor to the sauce, but you could also just boil them before blending.

Add all the ingredients for the salsa to a blender. Don’t add water to the mixture or else it will turn bland.

TIPS & NOTES
✿ Instead of charring the ingredients, you can also boil them for 5 - 10 minutes. The sauce will be milder and less smoky.
✿ Chile de arbol is optional. Add it for extra heat.
✿ Deseed the jalapeno pepper if you want your salsa verde less spicy.
✿ DON’T add water when blending.
