Today we will learn how to make french toast! We won't just learn how to make regular french toast but a classic hong kong style french toast! It’s a popular breakfast item in Hong Kong.

What is Hong Kong Style French Toast?

The hong kong style french toast is a milk bread and it has peanut butter spread in between the toast topped with condensed milk! It’s a nice combo of sweet and savory.

If you’re looking for a different breakfast recipe. This french toast is super yummy and easy to make. Usually the french toast is deep fried for a super crispy outside but to make my hong kong style french toast recipe a bit healthier, we will pan fry it.

Hong Kong French Toast

Hong Kong French Toast Ingredients

Milk Bread
✿ Peanut Butter
✿ 2 Eggs + 2 Tablespoons Milk
✿ Salt

I am using my homemade milk bread to make this hong kong style french toast. Spread a layer of peanut butter on the bread. Place a bread on top and repeat. You will have 2 layers of peanut butter and 3 layers of bread.

Optional: Cut off the crust.






Make the egg mixture. Whisk eggs and milk together. Season to taste with salt. Dip the bread and coat all side








Heat up a pan with some butter. Cook the bread on all sides until golden brown.

Serve hot drizzled with condensed milk, honey or syrup!
