Japanese Fruit Sandwich フルーツサンド | Sando For Bento
Japanese fruit sando with fresh fruits
Today's bento item will be a fruit sandwich! Also known as Japanese fruit sando. Wondering how to make a Japanese fruit sando? It is very easy, fruit sando is a sandwich with whipping cream and fruit in between. The bread I am using today is purple sweet potato bread!
What is a Japanese fruit sandwich?
A Japanese fruit sandwich consists of a fluffy milk bread also known as shokupan with fresh whipped cream and strawberries or any other fruit in between. Once you cut the japanese sando in half you will see the refreshing fruit inside! Sometimes people will make the fruit sando into a pattern and once you cut it open you’ll see a flower.
For today's fruit sando we will be using fresh grapes and strawberries to make a fruit sandwich. It’s perfect for a snack, dessert or picnic day! It’s great for summertime, since lots of fruits are in season. No baking required and only a few ingredients are needed to make these fruit sandwiches. Feel free to use other fruits to make different fruit sandwiches!

Whip up heavy cream until stiff peaks.
For the fruit sandwiches we will be using milk bread. I used my purple sweet potato bread. On one slice of bread spread a thin layer of whipped cream. Place the fruits on top. Cover the fruits with another layer of whipped cream. Spread it out evenly. Put the other slice of bread on top. Tightly wrap it up with plastic film.
Refrigerate for 30 min before slicing and serving.
Enjoy! ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿
