Today we will make a Chinese pork belly recipe. We will make crispy roast pork belly! If you’ve been on my channel you might have seen the roast pork belly recipe I made in the oven. Today I will show you how to make roast pork in the air fryer.

Roast pork is a popular dim sum dish. Have you always wanted to learn how to make homemade pork belly? Today we will learn how to make your very own crispy pork belly at home that is juicy on the inside with a super crispy skin.

Air Fried Pork Belly | 脆皮燒肉

Air Fried Pork Belly Ingredients

Salt Vinegar Mixture (For The Skin)
✿ 1 Tablespoon Vinegar
✿ ½ Tablespoon Salt


✿ Coarse Kosher Salt
✿ Egg White

✿ Pork Belly

Marinade:
✿ 1 Tablespoon Shaoxing Wine
✿ ½ Teaspoon Salt
✿ 5 Spice Powder (To Taste)
✿ *Other Seasoning To Taste

Prepare Pork Belly

Clean And Season Pork Belly.

Next Day

Prep For Air Frying.

Air Fry

360F | 30 Min
400F | 20 Min

Serve

Clean pork belly skin by scraping it with a knife. Poke holes in the skin for an extra crispy skin using a fork or sharp item.

Optional: slice the meat
*Do not cut all the way through the skin

Place pork belly on aluminum foil skin down. Rub the marinade (shaoxing wine, 5 spice powder, salt and or other seasoning to taste) on the meaty part. Flip pork belly skin side up. Wrap up the sides with aluminum foil. Wipe down the skin. Brush vinegar salt mixture on top. Refrigerate overnight.

Day 2:
Mix coarse kosher salt with egg white until a paste forms. Cover the top with the paste.

Place in a preheated air fryer. Air Fry at 360F for 30 Min. Temperature and time might differ depending on the air fryer and size of meat.

Remove salt layer. Wipe off the remaining salt. Remove the aluminum foil and Air fry at 400F For 20 Min or until golden brown and crispy.


Cool down for 10 Min before cutting.
