The new year has started, which means most of us are starting to eat healthy! Today we will learn how to make oatmeal bread! It is a no knead bread recipe. No stand mixer is needed for this easy oatmeal bread recipe and also no need to knead by hand.

This bread has oatmeal and flaxseed which add some healthy nutrition to the bread. The no knead bread is chewy with some texture from the oatmeal. Use this oatmeal bread to make healthy sandwiches or as a bread replacement for a healthier bread.

No Knead OAtmeal Bread

Oatmeal Bread Ingredients

✿ 75 Grams Oats
✿ 140 Milliliters Hot Water
✿ 175 Milliliters Water
✿ 1¼ Teaspoon Instant Dry Yeast
✿ 1 Tablespoon Maple Syrup
✿ 1 Teaspoon Salt
✿ 150 Grams Whole Wheat Flour
✿ 150 Grams Bread Flour
✿ 1 - 2 Tablespoons Flaxseed
✿ 1 Teaspoon Oil

Make Dough

Fold Dough Several Times.

Shape In A Loaf.

Healthy Oat Bread

Score

Bake 500F 10 Min, 400F 15 -20 Min.

Oat And Flaxseed Bread

Cool Down

Cool Down Before Slicing.

Toast oats until fragrant.

Add the toasted oats to a boil. Pour in the hot water. Mix and let it sit for 10 Min. Mix again until porridge consistency.

Let it cool down a little bit until it’s lukewarm. Add the yeast and mix until combined. Add the flours, maple syrup, salt and flaxseed. Mix until combined. Let the dough rest for 15 - 20 min.

Wet your hands. Stretch out the dough and make a few folds. Rest 15 - 20 Min. Repeat the folding process one more time. Rest 15 Min.

Let's shape the dough. Press to flatten the dough. Fold the 2 sides to the middle. Roll it up tightly into a loaf shape. Pinch the bottom and sides to seal.

Optional: To coat the bread with oats spray the bread with water. Roll in the oats to coat.

Let it rest for 30 Min.

Place a tray of water on the bottom of the oven. The first 10 min bake at 500F with aluminum foil on top. Remove the foil, reduce heat to 450F, continue baking for another 15 -20 min.

Cool down on a cooling rack.

TIPS & NOTES
✿ Feel free to add other nuts and seeds to the bread dough.
✿ Bake in a dutch oven for a crispier crust.
