Today we will learn how to make pandan bread. As always I will show the basics on how to make these pandan bread rolls.

These pandan bread rolls are soft, fluffy with a hint of coconut flavor.

Pandan flavor is a common flavor used in Asian countries. We will be using pandan paste for our bread today! It gives the bread a nice green color and a hint of vanilla.

We are making these pandan bread into bread rolls but feel free to make a loaf instead.

Pandan Bread Rolls | Milk Bread Recipe

Pandan Milk Bread Ingredients

โœฟ 350 Grams Bread Flour
โœฟ 30 Grams Sugar
โœฟ 150 Milliliters Coconut Milk
โœฟ 35 Milliliters Milk
โœฟ 7 Grams Instant Dry Yeast
โœฟ 1 Egg
โœฟ 30 Grams Butter
โœฟ ยฝ Teaspoon Salt
โœฟ 1 Teaspoon Pandan Extract

Combine Liquid

Whisk Until Combined.

Make Dough Using A Stand Mixer

Shape Dough

Roll Out Dough And Shape.

Rest Until Doubled In Size.

Bake 320F | 20 -25 Min

Let's make Pandan Bread! 

In a bowl combine egg, milk, coconut milk and pandan paste. Whisk until combined. Add all the ingredients to a stand mixer except the butter. Feel free to knead by hand.



Mix on low speed for 3 minutes. Add the butter and keep mixing on low speed for another 3 minutes.

Turn up speed to medium. Mix for another 3 minutes. Total mixing time of 9 minutes. Shape the dough into a ball and place in a greased bowl. Let it rest for 1 hour.




Remove air from the dough. Divide in 12 equal pieces. Shape each dough into a ball.





Place it in a baking dish. let it rest for 45 - 60 Min or until doubled in size.





When ready to bake, dust the top with flour.
Bake 320F | 20 - 25 Min

Remove from pan. Transfer to a cooling rack to cool down.

TIPS & NOTES
โœฟ Instead of using the stand mixer you can knead by hand as well. Kneading by hand will take approx 20 - 25 min.
โœฟ You can replace the milk with coconut milk for a stronger coconut flavor.
