Homemade Multigrain Rice
Today we will learn how to make multigrain rice. Also known as purple rice, Japgokbap or Ogokbap.
Multigrain rice is a blend of mixed grains. It is made of a mixture of rice, beans and legumes. Depending on the region different types of beans and grains are used. Today I will show a basic recipe that I use for my multigrain rice. Feel free to replace or add other beans to your version.
You can make this multigrain rice to replace your regular rice or if you are looking for a healthier option for your dinner. The mix of grains add great nutritions to your meal. Not only is it healthier, but also pretty looking!

Multigrain Rice | Japgokbap
Japgokbap Ingredients
✿ 2 Cups Short Grain Rice
✿ 1 Cup Brown Glutinous Rice
✿ 1 Cup Barley
✿ 4 Tablespoons Black Rice

Mix all the ingredients for the multigrain rice together. Store in an airtight container.
To make the rice use 1:1 ratio multigrain rice and water.
Use preferred method to make the rice. I made mine on a stove top. Feel free to use a rice cooker.
*If using beans in the mixture. Soak for approx. 1hr first before cooking.
Serve with your favorite side dishes!

TIPS & NOTES
✿ Adjust mixture to personal preferences. You can add other beans and legumes like Azuki beans, Black beans, Kidney beans, Chickpeas etc.
✿ If adding beans to the mixture. Soak the mixture before cooking.
✿ Cook rice using a rice cooker or on the stove top.
