What Is Chinese Shrimp Toast?
Chinese shrimp toast is a bread topped with shrimp paste and sesame seeds. The bread is then deep fried to make it crispy. It is usually eaten as an appetizer during dim sum.
To turn it into a healthier shrimp toast recipe version we will air fry and pan fry our shrimp toast. The chinese shrimp toast recipe turned out crispy and less greasy!

Chinese Shrimp Toast Ingredients
✿ Milk Bread Or Any Stale Bread
✿ Sesame Seeds
Shrimp Paste:
✿ 225 Grams Shrimp
✿ Salt & Pepper To Taste
✿ ½ Tsp Chicken Powder Or Soy Sauce
✿ ½ Tsp Sugar
✿ 1 Tbsp Cornstarch
✿ 1 Egg White
✿ 1 Spring Onion
✿ 1 Teaspoon Sesame Oil

I am using homemade milk bread. Feel free to use your favorite bread. Stale bread works too!
To make the shrimp paste. Flatten shrimp and mince. Chop with a knife or use a food processor. Season the shrimp paste (to taste). Mix until combined and sticky.
Spread a thin layer of shrimp paste on the bread. Sprinkle top with sesame seeds or dip the top in sesame seeds if you want the whole top coated.
Air fry | pan fry or deep fry. I Air fried and pan fried mine. Air fry at 400F for 7 min or until golden brown and crispy.
Pan fry until toast & sesame seeds are crispy and golden brown.
Cut toast in desired sizes. Enjoy while it’s still hot. ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿
