Are you looking for a delicious and healthy soup recipe? Today I will show you how to make a hearty oxtail soup recipe! This chinese style oxtail soup recipe (牛尾湯), is one of my favorite soups to make! And it is great to have as a comfort soup.

This homemade oxtail and tomato soup recipe is perfect to boost your immunity. It’s packed with vitamins and antioxidants from the vegetables! Oxtail is high in protein and collagen which is good for your body, joints and skin.

How To MAke Oxtail Soup

I always loved when my mom made this soup. I would always dip my rice in the soup and eat the oxtail and vegetables with some soy sauce. Nowadays I make it myself. Since it takes a long time to make I always prepare it in the mornings and it will be ready to serve for dinner. While the soup is simmering It hards to let it simmer for 2½ - 3 hours. But how longer you simmer the soup how better it will be. The meat will be more tender if you let the soup cook for more than 4 hrs.

Oxtail Soup - 牛尾湯

Ingredients

✿ 2 - 3 Carrots
✿ 1 Ginger
✿ Salt (To Taste)
✿ 2 Liters Water

✿ 5 -6 Oxtail
✿ 1 Tomato
✿ 1 Onion
✿ 1 - 2 Potatoes

Prepare Vegetables

Peel & Cut Vegetables.

Blanch Oxtail

Blanch Oxtails In Boiling Water

Chinese-Oxtail-Soup

Cook Soup

Cook 2½ - 3 Hours.

Skim Oil

Remove The Oil On Top.

Serve!

Serve While Hot.

Prepare the vegetables. Tomato, onion, carrots, potatoes and ginger. Peel and cut the vegetables in desired sizes.

To blanch the oxtails bring a pot with enough water to a boil. Add the oxtails. Once the water is boiling remove oxtail and drain the water.





Add the prepared vegetables, blanched oxtail and water to a pot and bring it to a boil. Once boiling turn down the heat to let it simmer. Let the soup simmer at least 2½ - 3 hours.
When ready season to taste with salt.


Optional: skim of the oil on top of the soup with a scoop or special oil remover.




Serve for dinner with some rice!

TIPS & NOTES
✿ The longer you cook the soup the more tender the meat will be and more flavor the soup will have
✿ For a more sweeter soup add more carrot. You could also use corn.
