Chinese Pork Rib Bean Sprout Soup

Today we will learn how to make simple pork ribs with bean sprout soup. This pork ribs soup is light and a simple healthy soup. This Chinese pork rib soup can be served for dinner or eaten together with a bowl of rice as a quick lunch. This Pork Ribs & Bean Sprout Soup is a common Chinese family style cooking that I can remember having on cold days. A simple soup recipe that is healthy and can warm up your loved ones. Bean sprouts are suitable for stewing soup as it gives the soup a unique flavor.

Pork Rib Bean Sprout Soup

Pork Rib Bean Sprout Soup Ingredients

✿ 1.5 Liter Water
✿ 1 Spring Onion
✿ 300 Grams Pork Ribs
✿ 300 Grams Bean Sprouts
✿ 1 Tomato
✿ ½ Carrot

Blanch Pork Ribs

Blanch Pork Ribs For 5 Min.

Make Soup

Simmer Soup For 1 Hour.


Blanch pork ribs first. Bring a pot of water to boil. Once boiling, add the pork ribs and blanch it for 5 min. Remove from the water and rinse the ribs with cold water.



To make the soup add 1.5 liters water to a pot. Add the pork and spring onion. Bring it to a boil. Let the soup simmer for 1 hour.
After 1 hour add the bean sprouts. Bring it to a boil again and simmer it for another 20 minutes.

Add tomato and carrot and cook until the carrots are soft. When soup is ready season to taste with salt. Serve soup while hot.

TIPS & NOTES
✿ You can use your favorite type of bean sprouts for this recipe. I used mung bean sprouts for mine.
