With Mothers Day around the corner, do you want to surprise your mom with some homemade food? Let’s learn how to make tiramisu!
What is Tiramisu?
Tiramisu is a coffee flavored dessert. Tiramisu is layered with Ladyfingers dipped in coffee with alcohol. And a cream made of mascarpone, egg yolks and sugar.
The tiramisu recipe I will be showing you today is not like the typical authentic tiramisu recipe, it is my healthier version of the classic tiramisu recipe. We will make an eggless tiramisu and a tiramisu without mascarpone. Instead of using mascarpone and egg yolks we will be using yogurt. With this method the tiramisu is low in fat and high in protein. This will be a perfect dessert if you are craving for a healthy snack. I also skipped the alcohol to make a no alcohol tiramisu. You won't feel guilty eating this healthy tiramisu recipe! I'm using a big cup to make a small serving, just enough to share with 2 people!

Tiramisu Without Mascarpone
Tiramisu Ingredients
Cream:
✿ 1 Cup Greek Yogurt
✿ ¼ Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
✿ 2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
✿ Vanilla Extract
✿ Ladyfingers
Coffee:
✿ 4 Tablespoon Espresso Powder
✿ 1 Cup HOT Water

How to Make Tiramisu Without Mascarpone
Make espresso or strong coffee. I am using instant espresso powder with hot water. Set aside until use.
Let's make a yogurt based cream. Add yogurt, heavy whipping cream and your favorite sweetener to a bowl. (Add sweetener to taste).
Beat until soft peaks.
Pour coffee on a plate. Quicky dip ladyfingers in the coffee.
*Cut ladyfingers to size if needed
Let's assemble!
I am using a cup for mine. Line up soaked ladyfingers on the bottom. Spread a layer of cream on top.
Repeat process until the top. Smooth out the cream on top.
Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

TIPS & NOTES
✿ I used espresso powder for the coffee. Feel free to brew your own coffee with fresh grounds.
✿ Greek yogurt and whipped cream ratio can be adjusted to personal preferences.
✿ Can be stored in the fridge 2 - 3 days. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.
