I used to have the ready made poffertjes all the time when younger or the ones from the food stands. Over the last few years I have learned how to make poffertjes at home. You are definitely missing out if you haven’t tried to make your homemade Dutch poffertjes!

Poffertjes are a must try when visiting the Netherlands. However, if you’re unable to travel, then you can use this Dutch mini pancakes recipe to make your homemade poffertjes! Poffertjes | Dutch Mini Pancakes
Poffertjes Ingredients
✿ 125 Grams Wheat Flour
✿ 25 Grams Buckwheat Flour
✿ 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
✿ Pinch Of Salt
✿ 225 Milliliters Milk
✿ 1 Egg
✿ 12 Grams Melted Butter

How To Make Poffertjes
First combine all the dry ingredients. Add egg and add in milk in 2 batches. Whisk until a smooth batter. Add in melted butter and whisk again until combined.
Pour batter in a sauce bottle, piping bag or batter dispenser.
Warm up your poffertjes pan or use a Takoyaki pan. Brush some melted butter in each cavity. Pour in the batter approx. 3/4 full.
cook until small bubbles forms on top. Flip the poffertjes using 2 wooden skewers. Cook the other side until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter.
Serve the poffertjes while hot. Sprinkle with some powdered sugar and serve with a piece of butter.

TIPS & NOTES
✿ You can adjust the buckwheat flour and whole wheat flour ratio to your personal preferences.
✿ You can store the poffertjes in the fridge for approx. 2 days. Warm them up in the microwave when ready to consume.
