Homemade Speculaaskruiden
βΏ 4 Tablespoons Cinnamon
βΏ 2 Tablespoons Nutmeg
βΏ 2 Tablespoons Ginger
βΏ 2 Tablespoons Cardamom
βΏ 2 Teaspoons Cloves
*Feel free to play with the spices and personalise it to your personal taste
βΏ 300 Grams Flour
βΏ 10 Grams Baking Powder
βΏ 150 Grams Dark Brown Sugar
βΏ 5 Teaspoons Speculaaskruiden / Dutch Spice Mix
βΏ 125 Grams Cold Butterβ
βΏ Salt
βΏ Egg
βΏ Shaved Almonds

Make Dough
Combine Until A Dough Forms.
Roll Out
Roll Approx 0.5MM Thin.
Bake
Bake 350 F | 30 Min
Break In Pieces
Cool Down Completely.
Add dry ingredients into a bowl. Mix to combine. Add the butter. Rub and knead the butter with the dry ingredients until crumbly.
Add milk in batches. Mix and knead until a dough forms
Wrap in plastic film. Refrigerate at least 1 hour, or best overnight
Roll dough out Approx 0.5 - 0.8mm thick. Transfer to a baking sheet. Brush with egg wash.
Optional: top with sliced almond.
Bake convection oven 350F | 30 Min.
Cool down completely
Break in desired sizes
