Did you enjoy my recent sandwich recipe? Today I have another sandwich idea for you, another healthy sandwich! We will be making an egg salad sandwich, tamago sando (サンドイッチ) .

What is tamago sando?

Tamago sando is a Japanese egg sandwich. For the japanese egg salad sandwich, shokupan is used as the bread. It is a super soft and fluffy milk bread. You can buy the shokupan at your local asian bakery or grocery store. Or click here to learn how to make homemade Japanese milk bread! Also Japanese mayo is used to make the super easy easy egg salad for the tamago sando but we will be making a twist and make a healthier version of the egg salad recipe.

We will replace part of the mayo with yogurt to turn it into a healthy egg salad sandwich. Since yogurt is packed with protein and lower in fat it’s a great substitute. The egg salad is still creamy. The yogurt will make the egg salad lighter and fresher.

Make tamago sando for fun picnic dates or pack it for breakfast and lunch for your kids.

Egg Salad Sandwich | Tamago Sando

Egg Salad Sandwich Ingredients

✿ 6 - 7 Boiled Eggs
✿ 4 Tablespoons Yogurt
✿ 1 Tablespoon Mayo
✿ 2 Teaspoons Mustard
✿ Salt & Pepper
Shokupan

Combine

Combine All Ingredients For Salad.

Make Bread

Spread Salad On Bread.



Boil eggs. When ready cut eggs in small pieces. Add the sauces and seasoning and mix until combined.

*Adjust ingredients to personal preferences.



Use your favorite bread to make the sandwich. I like to use Japanese milk bread (Shokupan) to make sandwiches. Spread the egg salad on one slice of bread. Place another slice on top and cut the bread diagonally.
